Most software is built for one industry and stops at its edge. Atlas is built the other way round: a single engine that knows how to observe, reason, decide, act and prove, and a layer above it that teaches the engine the field you actually work in.
Memory, reasoning, research, workflow, connections, voice and vision, authority, evidence and proof. Field-agnostic. It behaves the same whether the subject is a fleet, a caseload or a shop floor.
What the nouns mean in your field, which numbers matter, what a good decision looks like, and what must never be done without a person.

Your world
Built for the field you are actually in.
The domain layer is what makes Atlas fluent in your work. It is chosen at deployment and it is the only part that changes between one customer and another.

A bakery
Flour runs short most Fridays. Atlas learns the rhythm, the supplier's lead time and the cash position, and sees the shortfall before it lands. A standing order under the owner's limit it simply places, then watches the delivery and reconciles what actually arrived. Above that limit, or with a new supplier, it waits for the owner.
A law firm
A deadline sits inside an email nobody re-read. Atlas takes the obligation out of the mail when it arrives, ties it to the matter, watches for the filing that discharges it, and escalates while there is still time. It never files anything itself.
A shipping company
A vessel's consumption drifts. Atlas notices, pulls the port and market conditions, reworks the fuel decision against speed and congestion, and shows the evidence beside the recommendation for the person who owns the call.
Same engine, three different lives. Maritime came first because it is unforgiving, with real money and real deadlines behind every number. An engine that holds up there holds up in an office.
Authority
It acts on its own inside what you grant, and not one step outside it.
Atlas is meant to do the work, not to wait by a button. Where you have granted authority, it goes ahead: it reorders, it files, it schedules, it follows up, it watches what happens next. That is the point of it.
Every action resolves to one of four answers before anything happens. Authorised, so it proceeds. Authorised but held, so it prepares the action and waits for a named person to release it. Refused. Or the authority is unclear, in which case it holds and says so rather than guessing. Whatever it does, it leaves a receipt saying what it did and on whose authority.
Some things never move to the first answer. Money, legal position, sanctions, payment, title, insurance and claims always go to a person, and no setting anywhere makes them automatic. That boundary is permanent. The rest of the envelope is yours to set, and you can widen or close it.
A new Atlas starts with everything held and earns its autonomy as you extend the grant. Where the grant is silent it holds, because silence is never consent. You commit once, in writing, rather than on every action.
None of this puts Atlas where a person was. It works beside the person who owns the decision, doing the carrying and the watching so the judgment can stay with the human who is accountable for it.
Every number it shows carries where it came from and how far you can trust it. If a figure is stale, it says so. If something is unknown, it says unknown rather than showing a zero.
